Please note on departures for this itinerary over the next 6-8 months, travellers will not be
visiting/staying at the G Adventures-supported Dqae Qare San Lodge & Camp. During this
time, travellers will overnight in different, nearby accommodations. The itinerary will resume
normal operations at the lodge before the end of the year.

Arrive in Windhoek at any time and ease
into the start of your journey. Namibia’s
capital is set in the central highlands and
is often the first stop for travellers heading
deeper into the region. With no planned
activities until the evening, the day gives
you time to settle in and take in your
surroundings before the adventure
officially begins.
Later, join your CEO and fellow travellers for
a welcome meeting, where you’ll learn
more about the trip ahead. Afterwards, you
may choose to head out with the group for
a local meal. Be sure to check the hotel
lobby notice, or ask reception, for the
official meeting time and place.

Continue through the eastern part of Namibia and cross into Botswana before travelling into

Guided Bush San Walk

Get a glimpse of how the San tribe adapted to the Kalahari Desert and learn about their
fascinating wilderness survival skills. The gatherer life of the San/Bushmen has all but
disappeared; there are few remaining who retain the survival skills of their ancient way of life.
During the walk, San/Bushmen guides will share their knowledge on mastering this harsh
environment, helping us learn about the botany of our surroundings.

Immerse yourself in the culture and history of the Naro San when you stay at Dqae Qare San
Lodge & Camp tonight. This campsite and wildlife area is the only land-owned freehold by an
Indigenous community in all of Southern Africa. The San are known throughout the continent
A scenic flight from Maun provides fantastic aerial access to the magical beauty of the Delta
within a few minutes from lift off. The complex bushland soon opens up to stunning floodplains,
crisscrossed with waterways, hippo highways and animal tracks. This incredible scenic flight allows
you to experience the wonderful variety of diverse ecosystems in one awesome adventure, taking
you to the permanent waterways, palm islands and lagoons that constitute the heart of the south-
western Okavango Delta. On your way back to Maun, you will
experience breathtaking views of the seasonal floodplains
west of the main Boro channel. Doors are removed for unrestricted views, which offer great
photographic opportunities, and guests are provided with headsets for constant communication

Back on land, a guided walking safari gives you the rare opportunity to connect with the bush

The Okavango Delta and Nata show two very different sides of Botswana. In the north-
west, the Okavango Delta is one of the world’s few great inland deltas, where the
Okavango River spreads into channels, floodplains and islands instead of reaching the
sea. This remarkable wetland, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, is
known for the way water transforms an otherwise dry landscape into one of the
country’s richest wildlife habitats.
Further east, Nata sits near the Makgadikgadi region,
part of the Kalahari Basin and home to one of the
world’s largest salt pan systems. The landscape here
feels entirely different, open, stark and expansive, with wide horizons and a quiet sense
of scale. Together, the Okavango Delta and Nata capture Botswana’s contrast
beautifully, from lush waterways and reed-lined channels to the dramatic stillness of
the pans.

Where the earth seems to open and the river answers
There are places that feel larger than description, and Victoria Falls is one of them. Known locally as
Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning it is one of the world’s most extraordinary
waterfall systems, where the Zambezi River drops into a deep basalt
gorge in a curtain of water and mist. The falls span about 1,708 metres across, and the spray can rise
high enough to be seen from far beyond the gorge itself. UNESCO inscribed Mosi-oa-Tunya / Victoria
Falls as a World Heritage Site in 1989.
What makes Victoria Falls so unforgettable is not only its scale, but its presence. The sound arrives
before the view. The air changes. The mist hangs above the landscape like weather of its own. Standing
near it, you do not simply look at the falls; you feel them. It is one of those rare places where grandeur
becomes physical, and where the natural world reminds you, very clearly, how small and lucky you are.

Start your visit to Victoria Falls off on the right foot by sitting down to a traditional, Zimbabwean
meal, cooked by the Lusumpuko Women’s Club, a group of women from a nearby township. A
demonstration by the ladies will show you exactly how Zimbabweans traditionally eat their food,
and you’ll be served a farm-to-table meal made with traditional, local, in-season ingredients. This
meal provides much-needed income to the cooperatives’ 20 members – changing their lives and
families in the process.

Immerse yourself in Chobe National Park in an open-backed, open-seated safari vehicle, and
experience the stunning wilderness of the game-rich park in the care of a very knowledgeable and
friendly guide. Explore with your eyes as the tour drives along routes that overlook the beautiful
Chobe River and keep an eye out for the remarkable variety of animals that are drawn to this
permanent water source.
During the safari drives it is not uncommon to spot several of Africa’s “big five” in the greater
Chobe area and the early morning drive lasting 3 hours is a wonderful opportunity to have some
unique sightings.

You don't want to miss the opportunity to see Victoria Falls from above. Watch the Zambezi River
make its way toward the gorge and form the largest waterfall in the world. During your 15-minute
ride, you will have time to take in the incredible views over the falls, Livingstone Island, and Mosi-
oa-Tunya National Park while snapping as many pictures as you like. You may be lucky enough to
see some giraffes and elephants in the surrounding landscape and even catch a rainbow over the
falls. Includes pick-up and drop-off from hotel and a 12-15min flight.

experience more of the Victoria Falls and Zambezi area beyond the main visit itself.
This is where the destination really opens up, from sunset cruises on the
Zambezi and game drives or guided walks in Zambezi National Park, to
white-water rafting, canoeing and other adventure activities in and around the gorge and
river corridor. It is also worth allowing time for a slower pace, whether that means lingering
over river views, exploring the town, or adding one or two signature experiences that turn a
short stop into a fuller stay.

Victoria Falls Whitewater Rafting - From R2692.00
Take the opportunity to go whitewater rafting on the Zambezi
River while Victoria Falls roars above. Depart in the morning and
navigate through the canyon that forms the famous falls. The
dramatic rapids will fill you with excitement and complete your
experience. Includes a full-day of rafting on class III-V rapids,
transfers, and lunch. Please note: River conditions and activity
pricing vary depending on the seasons. High water season is
from about February to July. Low water season generally runs
from August to January each year - this is when the Zambezi is
at its very wildest. The "closed season" is dependent on the
season’s rains, and usually is from March to April; during this
time rafting on the river is not permitted. Additionally, this
activity requires passengers to hike down and up the Batoka
Gorge (approx. 45 minutes each way) to access the river; an
average level of fitness is required. This activity price excludes a
$10 park entrance fee.
